Mastering advanced endoscopic techniques requires hands-on training in a realistic setting. That’s why we proudly supported the recent ESD (Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection) and Third Space Endoscopy workshop, hosted by the Erasmus School of Endoscopy (ESE) in Braga by Dr. Arjun Koch.

This workshop offered participants the opportunity to perform ESD procedures using our PENTAX Medical i20c Video Endoscope Series to deliver optimal image quality and ergonomic handling. In addition, physicians gained valuable experience in managing complications like bleeding and perforation while using tools such as the HemoStat WideCupTM, which offers precise bleeding control through its unique bipolar technology.

At PENTAX Medical, we believe education is a shared responsibility. Through strong partnerships, we aim to empower physicians with both cutting-edge tools and the expert-led training needed to develop the confidence required for complex clinical cases.

Manual endoscope cleaning is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and prone to variability, all of which can increase the risk of human error, thus jeopardizing patient safety.

A recent clinical study from Erasmus MC highlights how automation can help reduce the risk of infection. Our AquaTYPHOONTM system – a fully automated, air/water-based cleaning solution – has been shown to reduce the contamination rate of duodenoscopes with microorganisms of gut or oral origin (MGO).

These results offer new evidence that automation can ease the burden on reprocessing staff while maintaining high hygiene standards.

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting an intensive EUS/ERCP workshop at our Hamburg Training Center.

In collaboration with our partner Santax Medico, we welcomed a group of endoscopists from Denmark, Norway and Sweden, each bringing experience and ambition in the fields of EUS and ERCP.

Over the course of two dynamic days, participants had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, refine their techniques, and gain hands-on experience in advanced endoscopic interventions.

A big thank you to all attendees for your enthusiasm, curiosity and commitment. We hope you returned home inspired and enriched!

For men aged 50 and older, colonoscopy and other endoscopic screenings are crucial for the early detection of conditions like colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. Early identification allows for timely intervention and can significantly improve outcomes.
