This course is designed for otolaryngologists and speech pathologists who wish to enhance their understanding of the advanced diagnostic and treatment options for individuals with complex swallowing and voice disorders. Participants will be presented with a thorough understanding of the biomechanics of normal and pathologic voice and swallowing function. Disease diagnostics will be discussed in detail including fluoroscopy, endoscopy, and manometry. In addition, participants will gain knowledge of the state-of-the-art treatments for voice and swallowing disorders, both with therapy and surgery. Participants will also gain knowledge in the treatment of benign laryngeal lesions, vocal fold paralysis, and inflammatory and traumatic lesions of the larynx.
